Morning Class with Jack Webb

Jack's class focusses on the intelligent and dynamic use of the weight of bones, muscles and blood. Swinging, shaking, folding and making space in the body, particularly in the hips and spine are all used to explore and harness the potential energy that is contained within the body.
 
Some codified exercises and release based exercises, dynamic floor work, imagery and breath are utilised to prepare the body for articulate and physically demanding sequences that focus on path ways through space, moving from the centre of the body and achieving a sense of virtuosity with ease and sense.

This class is based on alignment of the body, release tension in the muscles to increase the possibilities of movements in the body. Considering movements as a sequence of events, we will use body parts to create dynamic in the space, starting with the idea that the weight of the body can fall and be picked up, creating momentum and suspensions in relation to space and time.
