Alan Greig has been working professionally in dance since 1986. In 1990 he formed his own company Alan Greig Dance Theatre. The company has toured Scotland’s leading venues on a regular basis and has performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, London, Cologne, Nuremburg, New York, Hong Kong and Shanghai. Alan is also a much sought after teacher for youth, community and professional level students. Company credits include: Tron Theatre (Ulysses), Goucher College (USA), University of Malta, Jin Xing Dance Company (Shanghai), Y-Dance, Liverpool Institute of the Performing Arts, Northern School of Contemporary Dance, University College Bretton Hall, New Moves, Scottish Dance Theatre, Anniesland College, and Edinburgh’s Telford College.
Professional teachings include Dance Ihayami, Dundee Rep Dance Company, V-Tol, Jonathan Burrows Group, London Youth Project, Dance Base, Dance House, Citymoves, Scottish Dance Theatre (Creative Learning) Scottish Ballet Education Unit and the Scottish Youth Dance Festival. Recent performances: GOD (Grumpy Old Dancers 2012) Janice Parkers’ award winning ‘Private Dancer.’ (2012) and most recently with ‘SmallPetitklein’ in ‘Tentacular’ (2013) He graduated in 2009 from the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts with a Masters Degree (Distinction) in Dance Theatre Practices..
